travel info!
As you all know, we love Bali! Everything you need to know to make getting there and getting around as easy as possible is included below.
seminyak accomodation
Seminyak is one of Bali's hot spots with plenty of restaurants, beach clubs and shopping. We have included a map of Seminyak highlighting the best area to stay.
A few of our favourite villas in Seminyak are:
canggu accomodation
Our fabulous wedding planner has also given us a list of recommendations for the Canggu area, all within a 10-15 minute drive from the Iman Villa:
Please check your passport and renew if needed. Indonesia requires a minimum of 6 months validity on your passport.
Entering into Bali, you are required to obtain a Visa on Arrival. You can apply online prior to arriving or pay at the visa counter.
Flights and Transport
Book your flights into Denpasar Airport. Once you arrive, you'll need to get around. Most hotels and villas can help you arrange airport transfers and day trips – just reach out to your accommodation directly. For short trips, download the Grab app or get a taxi. If a taxi is your jam, only use Bluebird Taxis to avoid tourist traps and always confirm that the driver is using the meter before you get in.
Accommodation
We are heading to Bali a week or so early and staying in Seminyak in the lead up to the wedding before moving to The Iman Villa from 23 to 26 April 2026.
To make the most of the celebrations and Bali, our suggested itinerary is:
-
Seminyak: 22 April 2026 (or earlier). If you're making a holiday of your time in Bali, we recommend arriving in Seminyak a few days earlier to give you time to settle in and enjoy our favourite part of Bali.
-
Canggu: from 23 to 26 April 2026.
Of course, there is no pressure to follow this - plan your trip however suits you best including adding more time before or after.
We know that Seminyak and Canggu look close on the map but Bali traffic can be something else, especially in a car! On a good day it will take 30 minutes to drive between Seminyak and Canggu. On a bad day, you might be sitting in traffic for upwards of an hour and a half. A good tip to make sure you won't be spending too much time in the car is to use maps to check how long it will take from where you want to stay to the event venues.
Booking.com is the easiest way to find accommodation though we do recommend cross-checking reviews and rates across other platforms. To find accommodation nearby the welcome drinks or wedding venues, we suggest using Booking.com and pinning the location of the venue. Alternatively, we have included below some options for both Seminyak and Canggu to get you started.
travelling with prescription medication?
If you take any regular or prescription medication, please be aware that Indonesia has strict regulations around certain substances — including some medications that are commonly prescribed or available over-the-counter elsewhere.
To avoid any issues at customs, we recommend that you:
• Check the Smart Traveller website for the latest information and advice.
• Carry a copy of your prescription and a letter from your doctor stating the details of your medical condition, what the medicine is, your required dosage and that it's for medical treatment or use and for your personal use only.
• Keep all medication in its original packaging and carry it in your hand luggage.
• If you’re unsure, it’s best to speak with your doctor before travelling.
