You're going to want to do everything you can to avoid getting Bali Belly.  Don't drink water from the tap – not in the shower, not in the pool and not when you're brushing your teeth.  Don't even wash your toothbrush with tap water.  Just don't do it.  Trust us.  Ice is regulated in Bali so it will be safe to drink, including bars and restaurants.  Eat at street vendors or local warungs at your own risk.  Even when you take every possible precaution, disaster can strike.  Make sure you pack Imodium and drink plenty of fluids.  Pocari Sweat is a lifesaver to rehydrate when you can't stop… well, you know.

Tipping is not mandatory but a small amount goes a long way and is always appreciated.

Bartering with market stall owners is a custom in Bali.  Have fun with it.  Don't fall for the first price you hear, if you go too low, they will let you walk away.
